Afro-Italian Dinner at the JNRC (Refugee center)

Temple University Rome was proud to sponsor the Joel Nafuma Refugee Center‘s monthly benefit dinner on Friday, 21 Sept. 2018. In attendance were Dean Link, Prof. Maria Ponce de Leon, staff members Francesca Cuccovillo and AJ Fitzgerald, and two esteemed visitors from Main Campus: Dr. Martyn Miller (Assistant VP of International Affairs) and Dr. Zebulon Kendrick (Vice Provost for Graduate Education).

September’s dinner from Chef. Issa Diallo (a native of Burkina Faso) was themed “Afro-Italian Fusion.” A performance from Senegalese-born Kora musician “Kora Hero” punctuated the evening’s festivities.

Temple University has a long standing relationship with the JNRC via our Internship Program. Two current TUR interns, Florence Porter and Sophie Salerno-DeWald, as well as student volunteer Jasmine Campuzano were on hand the entire day to assist JNRC staff in running the event.
