As part of its Spotlight Series: Author Edition, Temple University Rome is delighted to host a virtual panel conversation with author Amara Lakhous on Wednesday, March 31 at 7 PM CET / 1 PM ET.
This 1-hour live webinar will feature a brief reading by Mr. Lakhous, followed by a conversation with experts from the Temple University Rome faculty. Finally, the panel will also accept questions from Temple University students and the broader live audience.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born in Algiers in 1970, Amara Lakhous left for Italy in 1995 during the Algerian civil war. His critically acclaimed novels include Clash of Civilizations over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio (2008) and Divorce Islamic Style (2012). Using humor to explore the encounter of cultures, religions and languages, Lakhous’s work depicts the experience of exile and the dynamics of migration in the contemporary Mediterranean.
Lakhous was awarded Italy’s prestigious Premio Flaiano in 2006 and Algeria’s most prestigious literary award, the Prix des libraires algériens, in 2008. He currently lives in New York.
