Hummustown/Gallery Opening Event

Art Gallery Event for Hummustown

This past Monday, Temple Rome hosted its first gallery opening for the semester.

The event was called Incontro di colori and exhibited the work of: Tony Esposito, Nora Maccoby, and Mark Kostabi, artists whose works have been shown across the world.

This event attracted local artists, faculty, students and members of the Roman community.

Attendees were able to socialize while enjoying refreshments and homemade food from Hummustown, an organization created to help Syrian refugees receive an opportunity to work. The refugees cook, package, and deliver delicious food around Rome as a way to create income.

Aimee Perez and Dylan Biggs, two Temple Rome students who intern at Hummustown, helped serve food while educating others on the cultural experience that they have received.

Attendees had the opportunity to purchase the Hummustown cuisine and learn about the organization first-hand.
