As Chief Academic Officer, Mary: serves as point-person for student academic issues, collaborating closely with the Student Life Coordinator; she works with faculty and staff to better integrate the library with the academic program; monitors academic programs to assure these meet or exceed the University’s standards for program quality, teaching excellence, student expectations and needs, core requirements, and accreditation standards; and serves as primary academic liaison with Temple University’s Main Campus faculty and departments to develop new academic courses and programs with the Dean.
Mary is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management (MSCM) at the Fox School of Business. She is responsible for development and presentation of introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate and graduate level marketing courses. Mary is a Dean’s Teaching Fellow at the Fox School of Business and serves on the school’s Teaching Round table.
She had taught at Temple University’s Rome Campus during Summer 2005, 2011, and 2014 and has lead both graduate and undergraduate students on study abroad programs to France, Ghana, India, and Vietnam. She taught an Undergraduate Marketing class at UCD in Dublin, Ireland (Spring 2015) and Oviedo, Spain (Summer 2015).
For the past 10 years, Mary has served as the MSCM department’s Academic Programs Coordinator; in this role she coordinates department and faculty schedules (75 faculty, over 360 sections annually), administers the academic programs (graduate and undergraduate), and manages student co-curricular programs and stakeholder outreach.
Mary has served on a variety of university committees (hiring and ad hoc) as well as a lengthy service on several Faculty Senate Committees (e.g. International Programs, General Education) as well as serving as an elected Faculty Senate member representing Fox School.
Prior to her Full-time appointment at The Fox School of Business in 2001, Mary held high level positions (with direct P & L responsibility including President, CEO, CFO/Treasurer) with several small firms (Annual sales ranging from $1M to $20M). She specialized in working with businesses seeking strategic and operational reorganization; industries included manufacturing, service, and wholesale organizations.
She received her Masters of Business Administration in International Business and Marketing from Temple University in May 1981. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Temple University in August 1979.
