FOR PROSPECTIVE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: ROME ENTRY YEAR PROGRAM
Temple University Rome’s Entry Year Program provides students with the unique opportunity to earn an American university degree by studying in two metropolitan cities across two different continents. Entry Year Program students spend the entirety of their first academic (freshman) year in Rome, Italy before relocating to Philadelphia, PA to finish their 4-year degree.
With the exception of Italian language courses, all instruction takes place in English. Click below to learn more about the Rome Entry Year Program.
FOR CURRENT UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS
Founded on guiding principles of interdisciplinary study and research, the curriculum at Temple University Rome provides an educational experience that can only be had in the Eternal City. As one of the oldest and most prestigious American university programs in Italy, Temple Rome educates global citizens by equipping students with enhanced cross-cultural, linguistic, analytic, and problem-solving skills. With Rome serving as classroom, studio and laboratory, Temple Rome provides a culturally immersive experience through high-quality instruction and hands-on, experiential learning.
Current university students from Temple University, one of our many partner institutions, or even elsewhere may enroll at Temple University Rome for a single semester or for an entire academic year. With the exception of Italian language courses, all instruction takes place in English. Click below to learn more about our flagship study abroad programs.
SUMMER IN ROME
Temple University Rome’s intensive Summer I session allows university students to complete 2 full undergraduate courses (6-8 credits) within a condensed, 6-week semester. It’s a perfect option for those whose major requirements make it difficult to study abroad during the regular academic year.
Meanwhile, our Summer II session is a 4-week program that allows students to follow a Temple University faculty member on a focused comparative investigation of a contemporary topic that affects both Italy and the United States. Students enroll in a single 3-credit course for the duration of the 4 weeks.
With the exception of Italian language courses, all instruction takes place in English. Click below more information on our various Summer in Rome programs.
FOR-CREDIT INTERNSHIPS
During Fall, Spring and Summer I semesters, Temple University Rome’s For-Credit Internship Program provides students with an immersive, in-depth introduction to the Italian workplace, all framed within a rigorous academic context. The program matches each student’s internship placement to their course of study, and encourages students to investigate the effect of intercultural exchange within an international working environment. To name just a few examples, recent Temple Rome interns have worked with Italian and multinational companies, law firms, nonprofit organizations, art galleries, museums, and Rome-based professional artists.
Temple Rome students earn 3 university credits for enrolling in the internship course, and complete their internship alongside their regular undergraduate coursework.

FULL-TIME SUMMER INTERNSHIPS
Temple University Rome’s Full-Time Summer Internship Program allows students to gain 6 weeks of international working experience over the summer, without the added pressure of a full course load.
Full-Time Summer Interns earn no university credits for enrolling in the internship course, and may not enroll in regular undergraduate courses during their internship. While most positions are unpaid, many of our partner institutions offer funding to support their students placed in unpaid internships. Check with your home institution directly to understand whether you are eligible for such funding.
