On the evening of May 23rd, Temple University Rome hosted an event with various representatives to discuss their unique impact regarding their univeristies and academies in Rome. The roundtable discussion included and introduction from guests John Ochsendorf (American Academy in Rome), Arja Karivieri (The Finnish Institute in Rome), Robert Costantini (LUISS Guido Carli), Harald Hendrix (Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome), and Luca Marcozzi (Università degli Studi Roma Tre).
They then gave insightful commentary about challenges their universities and academies have faced, their future goals, and their experiences. Dean Link and her guests touched upon the importance of collaboration, and encouraging students to step outside of their comfort zone. They also explained the ways that Rome cultivates creativity, changes perspectives, and encourages learning, making it a great environment for ambitious students.
The conversation continued during a festive aperitivo that began with a parting speech from Dean Link since it is her last semester as the Dean of Temple University Rome. This was the perfect time for attendees to chat, network, and try some of the delicious food and wine provided by the university. Click here to see more photos from this event.
