Last Friday Temple Univsersity Rome hosted their first Serata Italiana and Farewell Apertivo. Attendees were served wine, Mexican food from Maybu, and gelato to celebrate the end of the semester.
All of the students who took an Italian course did a performance, either live or on video, to present for the rest of the school. Performances included students teaching hand gestures, singing songs in Italian, dialogues and skits. Once the performances were over, Temple Rome prize bags were also given out to the student “most active on Facebook” and to a student by random draw.
To end the night, students and staff danced the night away to the music played by a student DJ.
It finally hit me that our semester abroad was almost over and it is a bittersweet feeling. Watching everyone show what they learned in Italian was really entertaining and fun! -Kristen Lesenko, Temple University Rome student
