Yu-Jie (Grace) Liao is originally from Taichung, Taiwan but now lives in Philadelphia and attends Temple University. She is a rising senior with a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Global Studies. Her goal is to find a career that involves both science and international relations. Her hobby at the moment is trying different flavors of gelato (I’m sure many of us can relate).
I would definitely want to be somewhere near the beach but not too touristy. I just love beaches so much I could sit there all day, maybe read a book, maybe take a nap.
I love puppies but I am actually scared of them. I’ve been training myself to interact with puppies because they are just too cute!
It’s always fun to travel. Plus, I’ve never been to Europe before so this is just the perfect opportunity.
My favorite spot so far is probably the Villa Borghese Garden. I’ve been there once on Monday, and even though it was a bit muddy, it was still so pretty. I might start bringing a book and read there on weekday afternoons.
Not anything too special, but I am surprised about the amount of walking I’ve been doing for the past few days. Although I’ve been walking a lot, it doesn’t feel like that much because there is so much to see in this city, and I think it’s really cool.
Field trips! I love going to actual sites and see what we learn in real life.
I want to learn how to interact with more people and to be able to travel independently. Also, I’m excited for my internship at L’Osservatorio, where I will be able to learn and grow at a research center that copes with international topics.
Keep your mind open, talk to people, and don’t be held back to try out new things!
