It was January 12, 1983, the first day I walked onto the Temple Rome Campus to start my junior year spring semester. I was beginning an adventure that was one of the most fantastic journeys of a lifetime. Anyone who knows me can attest to the lasting effects that Rome has had on me throughout my life.
So it was with great pleasure and pride that 36 years later I had the privilege to accompany my daughter, Lauren, to her first day of orientation in Rome at the newly expanded and renovated campus. I marveled at the new computer lab and lecture hall, the newly acquired third floor with amazing wall murals of old Rome and studios with breathtaking views of the Tiber River outside. I could barely contain my emotions that day. I’m so proud of my daughter following in my footsteps and of the school whose memory I cherish.
Now it’s Lauren’s turn. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for her. I hope she finds the awe inspiring eternal city that is Rome as inspirational as I did.
