Temple University Rome students spent their Valentine’s Day evening at a wine tasting night, hosted by wine sommelier Roberta Begossi. Roberta Begossi is a well known sommelier and wine consultant throughout Italy who loves to translate the Italian culture to others through experiences such as this wine tasting.
The students had the opportunity to learn about the process of making wine, how to pair wine with food, and the “general rules” of wine tasting. Roberta taught Temple Rome students how to evaluate three different types of wine by how it looks, smells, and tastes. Three types of wine were served including sparkling, white, and red.
Roberta was available to answer any questions that the students had about wine including how it’s made, how to buy it, and even how to open different types of bottles. Bottle opening contests were held, wine was tasted, questions were answered, and fun was had at this semester’s wine tasting night!
