Professor Bernardo Nicoletti, who teaches Operations Management, was a guest speaker at the ICEM-2021 Conference in Pune, India. ICEM 2021's primary goal was to "endow opportunities for academicians, scientists and research scholars along-with professionals, decision makers and industrial practitioners to deliver and confer their research contributions." The conference also provided opportunities for inspiring young scholars to learn newly created avenues of research at an international academic forum. Bernardo Nicoletti presented and wrote on the “New Normal” business transformation undergoing globally after the pandemic.

In addition, Prof. Nicoletti recently authored a new book Banking 5.0, published by Springer International. The book describes how the next transition from industry 4.0 to 5.0 will impact all sectors, including banking. It combines information technology and automation, based on artificial intelligence, person-robot collaboration, and sustainability. It is time to analyze this transformation in banking deeply, so that the sector can adequately change to the ‘New Normal’ and a wholly modified banking model can be properly embedded in businesses.

This book presents a conceptual model of banking 5.0, detailing its implementation in processes, platforms, people, and partnerships of financial services organizations companies. The last part of the book is then dedicated to future developments.
