The Temple Rome Library is one of the largest English-language libraries in Rome, and one of the finest among study abroad campuses in the city. The library provides an excellent environment for research, study, or simple browsing. Though our numerous holdings span a wide range of topics and academic disciplines, the collection is particularly extensive within the fields of architecture, art, art history, business, humanities and social sciences. The collection also pays special attention to topics relating to Italy or Europe more generally.
As a branch location of Temple University’s Charles Library, we are able to offer users an extensive network of services and resources to support their educational and research needs.

Library Usage Guide
Circulation
Students may check out up to 5 books at a time for a maximum of 2 weeks, though each can then be renewed for an additional 2 weeks unless reserved by another user. Longer renewals for midterm or final papers are sometimes possible by special agreement.
Rare books and books placed on reserve may be checked out for a maximum of 2 hours, and must not be taken beyond the school’s library, computer lab, or entrance lobby. Circulating DVDs and other multimedia can be checked out for two days at a time.
Guest User Policy
Temple Rome Library is open to guest users from the larger academic or Roman communities for library reference only. Guests must check in at the circulation desk every time they visit the library, and during the first visit guests will be required to provide registration information for our records (i.e. name, academic affiliation, picture ID, and e-mail address).
Guest users may reference our holdings on-site only and are not permitted to check out materials from the library. Guests must be actively referencing Temple Rome Library holdings during their stay and are not permitted to use the space for other purposes.
The library is closed to guest users during final exam periods (one week each in December, April, June and July; please call ahead to check dates).
Photocopier & Scanner
Both a photocopier and scanner are available for use by currently enrolled students. There is no charge to use the photocopier (up to a maximum of 10 copies).
