At Temple, our goal is to make it financially possible for every qualified applicant to enroll, so we may continue to build the talented and diverse student community for which we are known. Financial aid opportunities can help you finance your education at Temple. 

  • We award more than $100 million in scholarships each year.
  • 70% of eligible first year students receive need-based aid. 
  • In recent years, more than half of our students were offered merit-based scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to full tuition.

    US Federal Student Aid

    Students who are US citizens attending the Rome Bachelor's Degree Program are eligible to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive federal need-based aid. This includes the Federal Pell Grant. For more information, please see 2026-27 FAFSA | Student Financial Services | Student Financial Services. All students will be expected to adhere to the same policies as students attending Main Campus.
  • Temple supports GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon benefits for eligible military families
  • Work study or on-campus jobs available for eligible students
  • Temple offers payment plans that help students and families manage tuition bills

Tuition rates for 2026–2027 will be approved by Temple’s Board of Trustees in the summer preceding the academic year. Please note that fees are subject to change.

US Federal Student Aid

Anticipated Costs for Years 2-4
Degree-seeking students should expect expenses to be comparable to those outlined above. Tuition and fees are established annually each summer and are expected to reflect a modest yearly increase. Housing costs will vary based on the student’s selected housing arrangement, whether program-arranged or independent.

Student Housing for Years 2–4
Students who wish to reside in program-arranged housing during Years 2–4 must confirm their housing commitment in the spring semester preceding the academic year for which housing is needed. Participation in program-arranged housing is optional for Years 2–4.

Health Insurance
All degree seeking students must have health insurance for the academic year; additional information and documentation will be made available to accepted students.

    Scholarships

    Temple Rome Global Citizen Scholarship

    Full tuition for first year at Temple Rome

    This merit-based scholarship is open to all students, regardless of nationality, who are residing outside of the United States. Students are automatically considered and will be notified if they receive this scholarship by email.

    Temple Rome Merit Scholarships

    $500 to $10,000 for first year at Temple Rome

    All first-year students who complete their application by February 1 are automatically considered for merit scholarships. A separate application is not required.

    Eligibility can include a student’s academic and/or extra-curricular accomplishments. In most cases, a student’s financial need will not determine a student's eligibility for a merit scholarship.

    Students are notified of merit scholarships in late spring. Most merit scholarships at Temple require a minimum GPA to be maintained as a full-time student.

    Temple Rome Bridge Scholarship

    $500 to $3,000* to go towards housing for first year at Temple Rome

    Available only to Rome first year applicants of any nationality, this merit-based scholarship goes towards the cost of university-facilitated housing during their first year in Rome. Students must fill out a separate application to be considered for this award.

    Jack and Monica Pinkowski Endowed Scholarship

    The Jack and Monica Pinkowski Endowed Scholarship provides up to $10,000 in financial support to Temple Rome students who demonstrate financial need.  

    This merit-based scholarship is open to all students, regardless of nationality, and is offered to students who must meet at least one of the following criteria: completion of coursework or demonstrated knowledge in Polish or Italian studies, history, or culture; a commitment to promoting or enhancing Polish or Italian culture through service, leadership, research, creative work, or community engagement; or current membership in a recognized Polish and/or Italian cultural organization.  

    Interested students should submit a 500-word essay to explain how they meet the scholarship criteria, a cover letter that outlines their financial need, and a copy of their curriculum vitae here.  

    Deadline to apply: April 1st 

    Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Dean of Temple Rome and a scholarship committee and will be notified if they receive this scholarship by email. 

    Temple Tuition Grant

    Temple tuition grant ($1,000 per year for four years) is contingent on earning a B or better in the pre-college program “Temple Summer Academy” (Temple University, Philadelphia), or attending one of Temple University Rome's Pre-College Workshops or Temple University Rome's Pre-College Summer Program and then enrolling at Temple University Rome as a first-time, full-time freshman, and maintaining a 3.0 GPA and continuous full-time enrollment status.
