Maurizio Carbone is a Professor of International Relations and Development at the University of Glasgow, where he holds the Jean Monnet Chair of EU External Policies. He also serves as Visiting Professor at the College of Europe (Natolin) and LUISS Guido Carli (Rome). His research interests revolve around the external action of the European Union and the relations between the EU, Africa and the OACPS. His work has been featured in numerous journals such as Development Policy ReviewGlobal Governance, International RelationsJCMS: Journal of Common Market StudiesJournal of European IntegrationJournal of International DevelopmentThird World Quarterly, and West European Politics. Among his book are: ‘The European Union and International Development: The Politics of Foreign Aid’ (Routledge, 2007); ‘The European Union in Africa: Incoherent Policies, Asymmetrical Partnership, Declining Relevance?’ (ed., Manchester University Press, 2013); ‘The Europeanisation of Development Policy’ (ed. with Jan Orbie, Routledge, 2017). Prof. Carbone is the co-founding editor of Contemporary Italian Politics, a peer-reviewed journal published by Taylor & Francis (Routledge).
