Temple Rome Professor of Political Science, Marta Bordignon, moderated a session entitled Women in Peace and Security at the W20 Rome Summit.
The W20 Rome Summit took place from July 13-15, "bringing together hundreds of leaders, experts and role models from across the world, to discuss the most pressing issues facing women’s social, economic and political empowerment, and to deliver the W20’s 2021 Communiqué to the G20 Leaders."
Bordignon moderated a panel with speakers including Lucio Caracciolo, Editor-in-chief of Limes - Italian Review of Geopolitics, Antonia Marie De Meo, Director of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), Irene Fellin, President of Women In International Security (WIIS) Italy and Senior Researcher on Gender and Security Issues at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), Stefania Pucciarelli, Italian Undersecretary of Defense, and Sara Serafino, Italian Carabinieri Captain, "Military Condition and Equal Opportunities" Branch Chief at the Office of Legal Affairs and Military Condition of the Carabinieri General Headquarters.
