Rumen Pozharliev, an Associate Professor in Marketing at Luiss University and Director of the Master in Retailing at Luiss Business School, has lectured on marketing and consumer neuroscience since 2012, and has been a faculty member at Temple University Rome since 2018. He is also a marketing consultant for Italian and international business organizzations, helping smart companies learn more about their customers and improve their marketing performance. As a former faculty of Erasmus University in Rotterdam, he is also part of international research groups working on projects related to sustainability, AI and luxury marketing.
His research looks at how social influencers (e.g., human, virtual, and pet influencers) and technology (e.g., artificial intelligence, metaverse, blockchain technology) shape behaviors. Using neurophysiological and unstructured data in the field as well as online and lab experiments, he has studied these topics in both the marketing and organizational behavior domains. His work in the marketing domain comprises twenty published papers including publications at Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Retailing.
Prof. Pozharliev believes that the goal of educators is to inspire and empower students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners.
