Management Principles introduces the nuts and bolts of leading people individually and in a team. Students build their personal leadership toolkit based on a practical application of the best available theories. Alumni often report back how often they use their toolkit in their professional pursuits. 

Whether you are an entrepreneur or climbing the corporate ladder, you will be better positioned to reach your potential if you can align a team to your goals and guide them to accomplish these goals. In other words, you must be able to lead people.

Design Thinking addresses the important early life of an idea in an organizational environment. This course addresses how you start with a fledgling idea on the back of an envelope or on a Post-It-Note from a brainstorming session and shepherd it through initial evaluations to convince the organization to invest in developing and commercializing the idea.

Financial Management for Technologists addresses the most common financial decisions faced by engineers early in their career. The decision of whether to approve, or promote, a project. Sometimes referred to as the capital budgeting process it is critical for engineers to understand the financial implications of how they promote and execute capital projects such as new product development, new production facilities, and many others.

Finance has been called the life-blood of organizations. This is true for both for-profit ventures with the mission to reward investors with financial gain and for nonprofits that must accomplish their organizational mission while providing effective stewardship of donor or taxpayer provided resources. Finance is the language spoken at the leadership table of every organization and graduates of the Engineering Management Program must be financially literate to earn a seat at the table.

Temple Rome's Engineering Management (EMGT) courses will be offered in a hybrid format.  In-person weekend classes (Thursday evening through Saturday) will "bookend" each course on the program with intense online engagement in between.
