Erika Tasini is a film director and writer.  After studying Comparative Literature at the University of Bologna, she earned a Master of Arts in Cinema Studies and a Master of Fine Arts in Directing at UCLA. She studied Screenwriting in Paris at the Conservatoire Européen d’Écriture Audiovisuelle. 


Her films screened at several international venues, including Slamdance, Edinburgh Film Festival, LACMA, Chicago International Film Festival, the Cinematheque Française and the Torino Film Festival. Erika competed for the Today Berlin Award at the Berlinale Talents and wrote the documentary An African Election. Programmed at IDFA, Sundance and Locarno, the film was nominated for the Spirit Independent Award and released in UK and US cinemas. 
 
She was selected in the Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab and participated in the Flaherty Film Seminar, the IDFA Academy and the Future Docs workshop. For her documentary work, she was awarded an Advocate Europe grant.
 
Erika has taught film at Cal Arts, the American University of Rome, John Cabot University and the University of Oslo.
