Temple Rome Counselor Fly-In

Temple University's Rome Campus is excited to host its third annual high school counselor fly-in from Wednesday, June 12 through Friday, June 14, 2024. This three-day experience will give you an inside look of Temple University, our global campuses in Rome, Philadelphia, and Tokyo, and the programs and opportunities available to students.

Tentative Agenda

Early-Mid Afternoon: Arrival in Rome

6 PM: Discover Temple Rome's surrounding neighborhood and the nearby historic center through an optional walking tour with a Temple Rome faculty member.

7 PM: Get a "Taste of Temple" and meet our staff through a Welcome Aperitivo.

9:30 AM: Join us for a tour of Temple University's Rome Campus.

10 AM-12 PM: With influences from Temple's Japan Campus, get a taste of Temple Rome's fine arts history through a bookbinding workshop led by our Printmaking faculty.

12:30-1:30 PM: Join us for lunch on campus with Rome Entry Year staff. This is an opportunity to learn more about Temple's offerings and ask any questions you may have.

2-5 PM: Experience Temple's academics at an on-site class visit in Rome.

7:30 PM: Dinner with students– get to know our student body, their interests, and experiences at Temple.

10 AM: Tour of student housing

11:30 AM: Experience one of Temple's signature student events, Cooking Class! We will say farewell over homemade lunch and dessert.

Travel & Arrangements

Arrivals

Arrivals will take place throughout early and mid afternoon on Wednesday, June 12. Temple Rome will cover the cost of your round-trip flight or train to Rome. We ask that you cover the costs of transportation to your hotel.

Those arriving by train are able to easily access Temple's neighborhood by public transportation (Metro A - Flaminio) or taxi.

Those arriving by plane can take a taxi from the airport or use public transportation. From FCO airport, the Leonardo Express train goes directly to Termini station where you can connect to Metro A. From CIA airport, there are multiple options that you can find here.

Transportation

Temple Rome's campus is located in the Flaminio neighborhood, about a 5 minute walk from the historical center of the city. There are various options when moving around Rome:

Public Transportation

Temple's campus is about a 5 minute walk from the Flaminio metro stop (line A). There are also several buses that connect directly to the city center and other areas of Rome. You can buy tickets for €1.50 from tabacchi shops, metro stations, or through the MyCicero app.

Taxi

Rome has various taxi stands located throughout major points of the city. The closest stand to Temple is in Piazza del Popolo. Otherwise, you can download the IT taxi or Free Now apps.

Uber/Lyft

We do not recommend using Uber or Lyft, as rides are not widely available in the city and prices are higher than taxis.
