Prof. Bruno Montefusco is currently working on his PhD entitled Learning Italian through Music at the University of Bologna. He holds a M.A. in Italian Didactics with a major in Pedagogy in Teaching Italian as Second Language from the University of Tor Vergata, Rome. Furthermore he holds a B.A. in Modern and Foreign Languages and Literature with a major in the North American Theater Studies from the University of Salerno. During his studies he translated dramas of Sam Shephard and David Mamet, two of the most important authors of American literature. Prof. Montefusco is also certified with DITALS (Diploma of Italian as Second Language) and is certified as administrative manager of CILS (Certificate of Italian Knowledge) of the University of Siena.
Prof. Montefusco teaches and lectures Italian Language at Temple University Rome since 2018, and at other American universities in Rome since 1988. In 2016 he started teaching courses Italian Culture through Fashion and as from 2017 Italian Language and Culture through Music.
He was reader at Berkley University, Lost Angeles, and taught Italian at the State University of Madrid, Spain.
Prof. Montefusco directed several theater shows in Italy, like Torch Song Triology of Harvey Fierstein (Amici complici amanti), The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Beautiful Thing by Jonathan Harvey, etc.. He created the theatrical composition Con la musica alla radio, featured in several Italian theaters.
