John Ryan is the Executive Vice President, Chief Counsel Officer and Corporate Secretary for Temple University Health System. While a student at New York University in the early 90’s, Mr. Ryan attended the Rome program during his junior year and said it was a life-changing experience for him. Mr. Ryan then earned his law degree at Northwestern University School of Law and spent the next 20+ years in law, business and government. 

Before his role at Temple Health, Mr. Ryan was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Chief Governance Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in Boston. He also held senior roles with Unilife Corporation, Duane Morris, Aramark and as an assistant district attorney in New York. In 2018, he became General Counsel for The Jackson Laboratory. 

Mr. Ryan serves as Chair of the Rome Board of Visitors and is quite passionate about the program, the students, and the board’s role in promoting all that Temple Rome has to offer.
