Artists Statement
I am an artist who has moved a lot and has lived in different cultures. I gather the various fragments of linguistic, geographic, political and emotional experiences; fluctuating alliances and identities and attempt to unite them in my paintings and multi-media installations. Lately, as a metaphor for our life-journey, I paint or embroider the human figure suspended in space, on surfaces of gauze, glass, mosquito netting, canvas, wood and found objects. Each layer aims to bridge the past to the present and in their connection, to create a viable path towards the future.
