Prof. Barbara Parisi holds a M.A. in in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology (Qualifying for the Profession of Psychologist), graduated with honors (110/110 cum laude) with a thesis on “Strategies for Preventing Youth Distress and Addictions”. She also holds a M.A. in Humanities and Liberal Arts, graduated (110/110) with a thesis on “Non-verbal Communication” in Pedagogy, from La Sapienza Università, Rome. Furthermore, she holds three Post-Graduate Masters: one in ‘Sociology of Education and Inclusive Teaching Methodology’ in Sociology, one in ‘Nutrition and Mediterranean Diet’, and one in ‘Organizational, Institutional and Groups Psychology’. She also has several years of Training Experiences in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology Internship and Volunteer Counselor in Youth Support Groups.
Prof. Parisi teaches and lectures at Temple University Rome, and at other American universities in Rome since 1994. She started teaching Italian Language, Italian Studies, Contemporary Italian Literature and Culture, and Italian Cinema, as from 2013 she is also teaching a Sociology course on ‘Food for Thought’, and she also teaches Psychology.
Parisi is the co-author of the Italian language textbook, ‘it’. She also composes music and lyrics for RAI films, has two albums and several recordings on her name and sings with major Italian jazz musicians in Italy and Europe. Moreover, she is a certified teacher (Federazione Italiana Fitness) of ‘Pilates’ and teaches in Rome.
