Federica Cicala is a Rome-based learning designer, trainer, and facilitator with 18+ years of experience across international institutions, NGOs, and corporate environments. She holds a Master's in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning from Università Roma Tre and serves as Senior Trainer and Capacity Building Expert at the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe since 2012, where she designs and facilitates participatory learning processes across EU-funded programmes and youth councils in Council of Europe member states.

In Contemporary Politics of Europe, Federica combines academic frameworks with experiential and non-formal learning methodologies rooted in global citizenship education. This approach moves students beyond passive reception of political content, actively developing critical thinking, perspective-taking, and civic agency — the competences needed to engage with European political processes as informed and responsible participants.
