I have always been in love with travel and have gratefully been offered many opportunities to travel in my life. That is what made me ensure that the university I picked in high school would offer me many more opportunities to study abroad and learn from different cultures. After copious amounts of research and talking with students who had studied abroad, I decided that Temple Rome would be the perfect fit for me. Being in Europe would give me even more opportunities to visit more countries and see and try new things. As a Media Studies and Production major on the production track, I am obsessed with capturing special and unique moments through video. I believe that the most mundane activities could be made beautiful with the right framing and editing. That is another reason why I want to live in Rome next semester. I want to challenge myself in my skills to create content highlighting the beautiful sights I will be seeing during my time abroad. I also want to challenge myself as a young adult traveling to another country for a whole semester. From past experiences, I know that removing yourself from your daily routine can be jarring at first, but that uncomfortableness can lead you to learn so much more about yourself and others. I want to further challenge myself to learn about Italian culture with full emersion, how it differs from my life in Philadelphia, and how it changes my mindset for the better.
