John Ryan is the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Temple University Health System. While a student studying Italian art and architecture at New York University in the early 90’s, Mr. Ryan attended the Temple Rome program during his junior year and it was a life-changing experience for him. Mr. Ryan then earned his law degree at Northwestern University School of Law and has spent the next 30+ years in law, business and government. 

Before his role at Temple Health, Mr. Ryan was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Chief Governance Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in Boston. He also held senior roles with The Jackson Laboratory, Unilife Corporation, Duane Morris, Aramark and as an assistant district attorney in New York.  John also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Northern Light Health, the primary health system serving Northern and Downeast Maine. 

Mr. Ryan serves as Chair of the Rome Board of Visitors and is passionate about the program, the students, and the board’s role in promoting all that Temple Rome has to offer.
