“GAUDIUM – The Jubilee Jewel”
An exhibition of jewelry illustration for the Incinque Illustration Award
Location: Gallery of Art, Temple University Rome | Dates: October 14 – 31, 2025
_______________
Rome Jewelry Week (RJW) is pleased to announce the first exhibition dedicated to jewelry illustration, organized in collaboration with the Gallery of Art at Temple University Rome. The opening will take place on Tuesday, October 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at the Temple University Rome campus, located at Via di San Sebastianello 16.
The exhibition showcases a selection of illustrations from the numerous international submissions received for the Incinque Illustration Award, the first jewelry illustration contest established by RJW in 2023, under the curatorship of Barbara Brocchi and Monica Cecchini.
On display are works by selected artists, designers, and students, all created in response to the central theme of the exhibition — and of this year’s Rome Jewelry Week edition — GAUDIUM – The Jubilee Jewel.
In honor of the 25th Jubilee, RJW pays tribute to a historic and spiritual event of deep significance for both culture and society. Drawing inspiration from such a meaningful moment is essential to understanding our roots and exploring new avenues of creative expression.
By proposing “Gaudium” (Latin for “Joy”) as its theme, RJW invited artists and designers from around the world to interpret the concept of Joy in all its nuances — whether philosophical, sociological, social, spiritual, historical, or religious — by designing and illustrating a jewel inspired by it.
The collaboration with Temple University Rome's Gallery of Art and its director, Shara Wasserman, has been instrumental in bringing this exhibition to life, establishing a bridge between the international art of jewelry illustration and the academic and cultural context.
During the vernissage on October 14, the winners of the 2025 Illustration Contest will be officially announced. The top three winners will be awarded by Winsor & Newton, the prestigious fine arts brand, which will offer a selection of high-quality colors and illustration materials.
The exhibition will run through October 31.
