Temple University Rome is committed to making international education accessible and rewarding for students from a wide range of backgrounds. Through a variety of merit-based and need-based scholarships, the campus offers financial support to students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, cultural engagement, community involvement, and financial need. The scholarships listed below help students pursue transformative study abroad experiences in Rome while encouraging academic excellence, global citizenship, and meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
Study Abroad Scholarships (Semester/Year)
The Access to Temple Rome Endowed Scholarship provides scholarships to academically qualified students with financial need who are enrolled in the University and want to study at Temple Rome. Income from the fund can be used for tuition fees, costs associated with room/board and all other expenses related to studying at Temple Rome, including, but not limited to visa application processing fees, travel arrangements and living expenses.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Dean of the Temple Rome campus or his or her designee(s) in collaboration with the University’s Education Abroad program.
Temple students studying at Temple University Rome for the fall or spring may apply for a Temple Rome Scholarship to help defray the costs of studying in Rome. Several are awarded each semester and range in amount from $500 to a maximum award of $3,000 for each semester. Temple students may apply by completing the scholarship application and essay, available within the online program application.
The Cleonice and Dominick Sabatini Endowed Scholarship was established to support Temple students who plan to study at Temple Rome for a semester or academic year and enroll in Italian Studies courses.
Recipients of the Cleonice and Dominick Sabatini Endowed Scholarship are strongly encouraged to visit the Abruzzo region of Italy and write a short paper describing the culture and art of the region.
Students who apply for a Temple University Rome Semester scholarship will automatically be considered for this award. Apply by completing the appropriate program application and essay, available within the online program application.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Full-time Temple undergraduates
- Studying abroad at the Temple Rome campus for a semester or academic year
- Planning to enroll in Italian Studies courses
This scholarship is awarded to Fox School of Business students studying abroad at Temple Rome.
This scholarship is awarded to Klein College of Media & Communications students studying abroad at Temple Rome.
The Franca T. Camiz Memorial Scholarship provides scholarship aid for undergraduate Art History majors who are planning to study for at least one semester at Temple Rome.
Franca Camiz taught Renaissance and Baroque art history at Temple University Rome for many years.
Students who apply for a Temple University Rome Semester scholarship will automatically be considered for this award. Apply by completing the appropriate program application and essay, available within the online program application.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Full-time Temple undergraduate
- Studying abroad at the Temple Rome campus for a semester
- Art History major
The Anne Marie DuPas Scholarship intends to provide financial support to help Temple students study abroad at the Temple Rome campus.
Anne Marie DuPas was a staff member at Temple University who worked in the Office of International Student Services, the Graduate School, and the Office of the Provost, and was a strong supporter of study abroad opportunities for Temple students.
Students who apply for a Temple University Rome Semester or Summer program scholarship will automatically be considered for this award. Apply by completing the appropriate program application and essay, available within the online program application.

- Studying abroad at the Temple Rome campus for a semester or summer
- Demonstrate financial need
- Never been outside of the U.S. before (not even on a vacation)
Temple Rome Entry Year Program Scholarships
Full tuition for first year at Temple Rome
This merit-based scholarship is open to all students, regardless of nationality, who are residing outside of the United States. Students are automatically considered and will be notified if they receive this scholarship by email.
$500 to $10,000 for first year at Temple Rome
All first-year students who complete their application by February 1 are automatically considered for merit scholarships. A separate application is not required.
Eligibility can include a student’s academic and/or extra-curricular accomplishments. In most cases, a student’s financial need will not determine a student's eligibility for a merit scholarship.
Students are notified of merit scholarships in late spring. Most merit scholarships at Temple require a minimum GPA to be maintained as a full-time student.
$500 to $3,000* to go towards housing for first year at Temple Rome
Available only to Rome Entry Year applicants of any nationality, this merit-based scholarship goes towards the cost of university-facilitated housing during their first year in Rome. Students must fill out a separate application to be considered for this award.

One-time award of $10,000 for the first year at Temple Rome
This merit-based scholarship is open to all students, regardless of nationality, and is offered to students who exhibit a record of engagement and interest in global issues and who aspire to contribute to cultural dialogue and diplomacy.
Interested students should submit a 500-word essay on a topic of global importance, a statement of purpose stating why they believe they are qualified for the award and their curriculum vitae. Students will be notified if they receive this scholarship by email.

The Jack and Monica Pinkowski Endowed Scholarship provides up to $10,000 in financial support to Temple Rome students who demonstrate financial need.
This merit-based scholarship is open to all students, regardless of nationality, and is offered to students who must meet at least one of the following criteria: completion of coursework or demonstrated knowledge in Polish or Italian studies, history, or culture; a commitment to promoting or enhancing Polish or Italian culture through service, leadership, research, creative work, or community engagement; or current membership in a recognized Polish and/or Italian cultural organization.
Interested students should submit a 500-word essay to explain how they meet the scholarship criteria, a cover letter that outlines their financial need, and a copy of their curriculum vitae through the application form below.
